Updated Reopening Plan

Yes, we are now meeting again on campus for worship only at 10:15 as well as broadcasting our online service at 10:15 for those who are not able to make it in person

No. Some classes and teachers are providing online opportunities but we are not planning on regathering our classes on campus until Step 4, which is scheduled for August 9th. We have been encouraging all of our teachers and all of our classes to reach out to all of our members and see how we can be praying for one another and serving one another. Even if we cannot physically gather with our friends, we can still love one another and we will strive to do so.

Yes. We will continue to maintain our normal operating hours of Monday - Thursday 8 AM - 4:30 PM and 8 AM - noon on Fridays.

We’ve often said that the church is not a building and this crisis gives us the opportunity to demonstrate that reality. We can still as individuals, families, and small groups demonstrate Jesus’ love for our community. Here are some ways we are ministering:

1. We are going to be intentional about praying for one another. If you and your family have any prayer needs please let us know by emailing cmarks@firstvb.com. If you have physical needs, please let us know by emailing cmarks@firstvb.com. We want to be there for you.

2. Our Open Hands food pantry will be open for business and is operating in a “drive-through” fashion. We know our community has great needs and we will do everything we can to continue meeting those needs and supporting people in need.

3. We are going to be active in reaching out to our neighbors to see if they have any needs. We have created a Hello Neighbor card for you to fill out to help a neighbor that may be self-isolating. Click here to print the Hello Neighbor card or see the card below. Just a simple conversation can lead to an opportunity to share Christ.

4. Even though we are not physically able to meet on campus, our ministry needs have not changed. We want to continue as God’s people to give generously. We are trusting God to provide for our financial needs and we know that He will. You can give online through our website, bring it by the church office during normal office hours, you can give through the mail, or you can even text to give. Text any amount to 1-479-888-8521 and complete a one time registration form. We want to be able to respond to increased ministry needs in our community and we trust that through your generosity we will be able to do so.

The well-being of our church members and guests is our highest priority. In terms of precautions, we recommend everyone familiarize themselves with the CDC website which provides the most up to date information on how we should respond to this virus.

Here are some other practical measures we encourage everyone to take:

  • If you are feeling sick or running a fever, please stay home.
  • If you are returning from an affected area whether internationally or nationally, please observe a 14-day quarantine before resuming your involvement with church activities.
  • If you think you could possibly be infected with this virus, we ask that you refrain from attending any church event until after a 14-day quarantine.
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • If you or someone you know tests positive for Covid-19, please let our office know so that we can pray for you as well as take any actions to help others.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Disinfect objects and surfaces regularly.
  • Covering your sneeze or cough with your arm or a tissue.

In our children’s ministry, we will continue to follow our Children's Ministry Wellness Policy.
